Our priorities

Over the next five years we will:

  • Seek to diversify our funding and strengthen our financial position to ensure long term stability.
  • Continue to grow our training and awareness offer.
  • Regularly review and improve our services based on evidence and feedback.
  • Invest in systems and governance which support our work.
  • Reduce our environmental impact wherever possible.

Over the next five years, we will:

  • Continue to grow and develop our training and awareness raising activity.
  • Equip schools, GPs, and others in the voluntary sector to recognise the early signs of eating disorders.
  • Support student placements for a range of Allied Healthcare Professionals, ensuring that knowledge of eating disorders is gained beyond those working in primary care.
  • Challenge the stigma surrounding eating disorders in our communications and campaigns.
  • Work with partners, and with communities, to ensure our awareness raising activities reach all communities within South Yorkshire.

Over the next five years, we will:

  • Use data and community insight to understand who is accessing our services and who is not.
  • Address barriers faced by underrepresented communities, working in partnership with existing organisations where appropriate.
  • Strengthen the awareness of, and access to, SYEDA across Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster.
  • Ensure that our services are designed and reviewed with equity in mind.

Over the next five years we will:

  • Strengthen existing partnerships with NHS, education, local authorities and VCSE organisations.
  • Share our knowledge and experience to help to improve services and pathways.
  • Support collaborative projects and joint initiatives.
  • Work constructively with our partners across the system.

Over the next five years, we will:

  • Continue to ensure that all staff have access to supervision,
including those volunteering in the service.
  • Invest in training and professional development.
  • Strengthen succession planning to ensure sustainability of our
    provision.
  • Support, develop and grow our Lived Experience panel.
  • Maintain the respectful and supportive organisational culture that we have.
