Confidentiality

Information that you share with your therapist will be treated as confidential.

There are, however, circumstances in which confidentiality may need to be broken. These include where:

  • your therapist believes that there is a serious risk of harm to you or another person;

  • a child or vulnerable adult is at risk of harm or abuse;

Therapists also undertake regular clinical supervision in order to support safe and effective practice. They may discuss their work during supervision but will not disclose information that would enable you to be identified unnecessarily.

In line with our confidentiality arrangements, there will be no contact between a client and therapist outside SYEDA.
